R&D Mechanical Engineer / Resident engineer – German speaking customers

FACEA has been the trademark for the newly formed ASSA ABLOY Car Lock Group since 2006.

Principle Accountabilities:

The Resident engineer will support the currently running programs mainly in VW and other German customers, will liaise with responsible person in VW which is important for new business development, will setup meetings to support our development – mechanical and electronic. Will introduce new innovative solutions to VW and other customers and will create new business for future models to identify and meet the customer needs, will help to find the RFQ answers.

The Resident engineer will benchmark our competitors in the eyes of customers’ engineers and what are their advantages, try to work out a strategy on how to improve and enhance our development for our customers. Will get up to date information about new car models which will be launched and further information about the nominations for current models and generally will  support the activities connected with FACEA business development.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical oriented education at University degree level;
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in an automotive company;
  • Knowledge of ISO TS 16949, APQP, VDA, specifications of VW are an advantage;
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, QFD, GD&T are an advantage;
  • Knowledge of CAD – Catia V5 / V4, KVS,  PDM systems, others are an advantage;
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently as a team member;
  • Fluent in spoken and written German and English;
  • Driving licence group B.
